Discipline = freedom, that’s what I’m contemplating and vlogging about today.

All of us have lived long enough to know what is BEST for us. I’m talking what we should eat to feel our best, how we should move, how we should act with friends, family, and our inner voice to ourselves, when to rest, when to work harder. We know, we just don’t always follow our own rules for self improvement because life and vices get in the way.

It’s will power and discipline, or lack there of, that keeps us on track or in the gutter! I’m not saying there is one lifestyle to follow that is the right answer, I’m saying YOU know what is best for YOU based on your life experiences and why not feel your best all the time.

I screw up sometimes too, I’m human and pretty crazy and impulsive sometimes. When I get lazy on my yoga practice, eat some junk food, stay up a bit too late then eww I feel so low vibe and lack confidence until I get a few good days of pure positivity under my belt.

So all I can conclude is that the more disciplined I am setting up a positive lifestyle plan and following it quite strictly, the happier and more free I feel. My plan in summary is eat mindfully (not too much and super healthy), walk or run a bit every day, yoga everyday, try to appreciate mother earth and the living things around me every damn breath if I can.

Understanding the history of how and why we humans got here really puts our purpose and rights into perspective.

Here’s how I see it.

Our biology and earth scientists say plants started to inhabit the bare earth for the first time 400 million years ago, and it was another few 10’s of million of years until sea animals moved up to land…and another 399,800,000 years until humans evolved from apes!!!

Can you imagine that! The concept of countries, jobs, laws, governments, agriculture, burning fossil fuels even HUMAN LIFE has not existed for the vast vast vast majority of our planets history. But we feel our life and purpose is so important and must be done “correctly”.

We are a random species that has been around for no time, and we will soon be gone in geological time for sure. We as a species have adapted a multitude of very specific normalities, traditions and habits, some for better and some for worse of course.

When I get caught up in my head about work, family, my body, tattoos, IG, money, even my garden and house we are building and EVERYTHING…I like to remember our true ancestors crawling out of the ocean to be the first animals to inhabit earth.

And while I don’t claim to want the life they lived, I like to think that technically, maybe not legally in our modern world but BIOLOGICALLY TECHNICALLY I was born onto the same planet as them, with no real rules or contract of how I should act or behave. We are just animals furthering evolution and we have no real control of our life or the planets or anything.

We are really free and wild at the core, and the more I resonate and think about my wild self the more wild and freeing my life gets. I love it.

We show up for each other everyday because we want to and we do it authentically. If we have a disagreement or some strong feelings come up we address it and communicate through it rather than creating passive aggressive negative or disapproving energy.

We are not locked into anything, we are free as can be and honor that life changes every day. We don’t have expectations of where we individually or our relationship will be in the future because all we know is now. My wild intensity has been the fuel for me to accomplish my greatest achievements and life experiences. If I was more “balanced or chill” would I have cycled across 15 countries sleeping the most random wild places? Would I be able to say I’ve posted 1,200 unique inspirational entertaining YouTube videos? Would I have the sickest tattoos all over my body which I love, I think I look awesome! Would I have had the courage to become a yogi and completely transform my perspective on life compared to what I was raised to believe?

I now try to detach the weight and importance of nearly all things in life so I can enjoy the process and adventure of pursing my passions while not focusing solely on the results which are at times out of my control. We did not sign any contract coming into the world, thus we have no responsibility to follow the demands or expectations of others. This mentality has allowed me to release a lot of anxiety and instead live with a ton of gratitude flowing through me most moments of my day.

We all know the meaning of life, and when I say life I mean your individual life, because I don’t think there is a universal meaning or answer to living.

I believe life is like a single player video game and you are the main player.

Think about it, you have an internal dialogue all day about living your life and trying to make it awesome with more money, love, stimulation, fun, status, achievements, knowledge etc. You move though this life interacting with the characters, some who help you, some who want to take your power away from you, and your choices have consequences on your game. In the video game you know you’ll eventually get defeated and die…same in real life too!!! Haha how is real life any different than playing a game?

So the reminder for you today from my coffee induced early morning rambling mind in Costa Rica, is moment to moment while you are playing this game we call life, don’t take the obstacles sooo seriously. Try to be a a little more easy going, less reactive, a bit more confident and trust yourself with the moves you want to make rather than submitting to fear or approval from others in the game.

One of my mantras that helps me win at my game of life is DON’T TAKE ADVICE FROM PEOPLE YOU WOULD NOT SWITCH LIVES WITH.

Listen to your mentors, they will guide you in the this game to the level you want to be at, and completely ignore the haters or the people not on your level. Be kind, but don’t listen too closely to people you don’t want to resemble because we are communal creatures and it’s easy to get distracted and abducted by evil forces in this game who want you to act a certain way that might not serve you.

Social media is high social stimulation🥵, without any of the nature🏢, hard physical work, real in person community, and apps have been designed by geniuses trying to keep you on the app as much as possible even if it makes you angry and unhealthy like a drug. YIKES!

I think social media is like anything, you can’t only blame the device or app for the problem, you have to put some blame on the user and how they use the device, but you also sorta have to blame the device/app too, haha it’s complicated and must be judged case by case while also receive more overall regulation in the industry.

I have always gravitated towards nature, outdoor activities, and moving my body🙏🙏🙏🌎Hours and hours of IG scrolling never appealed to me. When I got introduced to social media in high school and even more in college I was able to use it as inspiration for myself to become better, and even become a lil micro influencer sharing content that was created to help people eat healthy, care about animals and the environment and also recover from eating disorders. I don’t feel like those people in the movie addicted, sick, and self conscious from social media obsession.

I’m a lucky one. I can use social media to my benefit while setting the anchor of my passions in things opposite to social media like yoga, farming, and bike traveling. But I totally get how a lot of humans, millions maybe billions, are a bit lost, depressed, living in cities disconnected from nature and social media is a recipe for disaster.

I also really liked the ending when the film clumped together flat earthers, anti vaccine people and anti 5g covid is a hoax folks all together as a group of people manipulated with false information by social media content creators. The internet is so crazy, so scary, and so wonderful. It’s yin yang like everything. But beware and spend more time with friends and in nature that’s for sure.

Meaning is real because it’s something we feel and experience and all strive for, it helps us get up in the morning and do something with our lives.

But meaning is also not real in that nothing is real, especially meaning because I believe we are simply products of evolution which you can argue is a coincidence not a purposeful plan set up by someone or something that is meant to be followed in a certain way.

But forget the big picture that nothing is real, the feeling of meaning or purpose in our lives is one of the only things that makes us feel good long term. Even if obstacles can provide challenges in our day to day lives, if we feel meaningful we can get through those challenges we face because we are on a mission and the mission feels right.

Getting caught up in anything other than your purpose like addictions, or chasing something vain that is not your true purpose, is just a distraction sucking your happiness away.

Meaning makes us feel magical and connected and motivated, everything else uses up our time but never returns the reward that meaning provides.

Distraction, addiction, and vanity are all desirable in our present moment reptilian brains, while those forces derail us from one of the only tools we have to stay on track feeling good long term which is living what we feel is our purpose or meaning.

It doesn't matter that there is no true meaning or purpose of life and our lives, the notion of meaning works, it makes for a good human experience vs a chaotic painful one.

I went vegan, became and yogi and got into fitness all around 2012. After two years of great results I decided to share my journey and advice online in 2014. I’m still crushing it and vibing on the plant yoga nature fitness lifestyle and that why I’m still here talking.

I went vegan for the most obvious reason which was I loved animals 🐄 🐷 and could always see their personalities and consciousness so I found it hypocritical to pay for their murder if I could survive and thrive on plants alone.

Then I got a degree in environmental science🤓and understood the ecological reasons that eating high on the food chain (animals) is a greater strain on mother earth vs nourishing ourselves from the sun via plants.

Since getting into the lifestyle in 2012 it’s pretty wild how 8 years later many of my once vegan and sustainability interested friends have evolved and changed their paths. It’s all good, we are all trying to figure out what is best for us and the planet and who is to say I’m right, but I find it funny how some people start eating meat again and claim that they were once in a vegan animal rights propaganda psychosis and that now they know animal agriculture is not bad, and plants feel pain too, and that the vegan lifestyle does not have legs to stand on it’s just a bunch of sick hippy doctors making false claims. Haha show me those studies… 🤯🤨😂😂🤦‍♂️

I don’t believe in chem-trails, or spirits, I read scientific articles, I don’t think 5G is trying to detoxify our pineal glands and all this wacky shit some vegans think…but I am still 100% confident that reducing your animal product consumption, doing breath work, practicing yoga, reducing your fossil fuel use and buying locally is still THE BEST SHIT to do to feel great and lower your human impact on the environment. A couple weeks ago I got in a lil late night over eating habit, which is always connected to some emotional struggle, and I couldn't believe how many mornings in a row I would wake up positive and confident to break the cycle and then by night time BOOM right back to the bad choices.

I don’t think I had done a full week raw since I was a lil fruitarian college student for a year after my first Woodstock Fruit Fest in 2014.

Why am I on a raw phase? The past few weeks I had been waking up a bit tired, achy, and not feeling my 100% high vibe self. Also late night snacking was creeping into my life and that never works out well for me.

I am very in tune with my body and energy so even little mistakes in my diet will make me feel way off and I get down on myself. I aint got time for that shit, I’m a high vibe high productivity mofo yogi…so I reached into my tool belt of experience and decided to go raw.

I thought it would be just for a day or two…and that has turned into a week with no plan to stop. I’ve been eating mainly coconut water and coco meat, pineapples, papayas, bananas, avos, and garden greens. This might be a long raw experiment my friends, I’m feeling goood and live in tropical fruit paradise so here we are!
